LIBE 477 Reading Assignment Part B
I want students to be able to gain skills that will support them when they are faced with a challenge to design something useful or aesthetically pleasing to them. I am becoming aware that 3D printing is not only a technology for accomplishing tasks, but is a new medium of choice used by artists to convey ideas through art. I wish to understand how to support them when they are working through a challenge and are presented by problems that require various skills to make decisions about design, measurement, dimension and geometry. As further problems arise I hope to be able to support their inquiry through the design thinking process. I have chosen to collect links, images, videos, websites, blog posts and other information that may be useful in this inquiry in a Symbaloo webmix. This way it allows me to keep all of my digital content in one place where I am able to curate and share it.

Some resources I have included:
-ADST BC Curriculum will provide me with the curriculum overview as well as the goals and rationale for including ADST in the LLC learning opportunities
-Blogs and articles that I can learn from to help me in my teaching
-Thinking 3D Core Education video: The presenter highlights the importance of thinking and creating in 3D ways. He talks about the video game Minecraft and how it can be a useful teaching tool when designing in 3D.
-Programs including Tinkercad, Tinkerine Suite and Sketch Up will likely be the software that I use for this inquiry
-Tinkerine Design Journal could be used for students to document their journey

You have curated a good preliminary list of resources to help you with your inquiry. Using the Symbaloo is a great way to organize and share your resources. It is also a great example of how we can help our students do the same. I am excited to learn more about 3D printing from you. While I have done some experimenting with it on my own it is not something I have had the opportunity to do with students as of yet.
